Agrani Bank Limited has launched an innovative feature allowing customers to open accounts online through their mobile application. This service simplifies the account opening process, enabling customers to complete it from virtually anywhere at any time with minimal information required.

Key Features of the Agrani Mobile Account:

• Contact verification via One Time Password (OTP)
• OCR-based capture of National ID (NID) information
• Selfie capture for face verification
• Verification against Electoral Commission records using NID and date of birth
• Automatic checks for existing savings accounts linked to provided mobile number and NID
• Customer information profiling and record maintenance
• Nominee information collection with face verification
• Collection of account preferences such as branch information, source of funds, and occupation
• Options for ATM card issuance and selection for over-the-counter transactions

Customer Onboarding Journey:

1. Customers can locate and download the Agrani Account Opening application (APK) from the Play Store. Once downloaded, installation can be completed with a simple click.
2. The installation process requires certain permissions, including network access, camera/media access, storage access, and internet access. Upon granting these permissions, the app is installed, and an icon will appear on the device.
3. A user-friendly guide within the app details the account opening procedure and required documents, allowing customers to select their preferred language: Bangla or English. A five-step progress indicator is displayed at the top of the app interface.
4. Mobile number verification is conducted through OTP, preventing further steps if an existing savings account is associated with that number.
5. The application utilizes OCR technology to extract customer data from the NID in real-time, prompting users to fill in family information and gender using English characters.
6. Customers can provide nominee details, account preferences, branch choice, email address, source of funds, and occupation through intuitive drop-down selections. After reviewing all submitted information, customers must agree to terms before final confirmation.
7. Upon confirmation, customers receive a 13-digit Agrani Bank account number via SMS along with a PDF file containing necessary instructions stored on their mobile device.
8. Funds may be credited to this account immediately; however, debit operations are restricted until the customer visits their selected branch.
9. The eKYC process is completed in-branch with customer verification using biometric data. Customers can apply to withdraw debit restrictions within three months after account opening via mobile.
10. During the account setup, customers can opt for ATM card issuance and indicate preferences for over-the-counter services. Branch personnel will process any applicable charges.
11. The branch has the authority to remove debit restrictions and facilitate other banking services such as checkbook issuance and MICR operations.
12. Once eKYC validation is completed at the branch level, customers gain full access to standard banking services including SMS notifications and debit card usage.
